How to Tell a Good Cheese Block Squishy From a Cheap One

Two things separate them, and neither is the printing. The first is how the body goes down: it should compress smoothly under an even push rather than collapsing all at once like a kitchen sponge. The second is what happens over weeks, not seconds. Material that is too soft stops recovering fully and holds a permanent crease. This block is built for the slower, denser end of that range.

The Three to Six Second Return

Press it flat, let go, and count. Somewhere between three and six seconds is where a slow-rise cube should land. Faster than that and there is no resistance on the way down, so the loop becomes a fast, repetitive squeeze more like a stress ball. Slower, and it usually means the material has been softened past the point where it springs back reliably.

Care, Storage and Age Guidance

Keep it away from prolonged direct sun and sharp edges, wipe it with a barely damp cloth and dry it flat rather than on a radiator. Material varies from piece to piece: some are moulded slow-rise foam with a printed skin, others a soft shell filled with gel or a thick liquid. Returns within 14 days. Ask for a return within 14 days of delivery, then you have 14 days to send the item back. Defects, damage and wrong items are covered by a prepaid label; if you simply change your mind the return postage is yours.
