We like to keep things honest and clear. Here are straight answers to the questions we get asked most — what our cheese squishies are, what they aren't, and a few important things to know before you buy.
Are you an official or licensed brand?
No. Cheese Squishy is an independent business. Our products are not licensed by, endorsed by, or affiliated with any other toy, plush, food or character brand, or with any real cheese producer or dairy.
Are they edible?
No. They look like cheese. They are decorative squeeze toys. They are never food and must never be eaten, licked or put in the mouth.
Who are they for?
Ages 14 and over. These are collectible display and fidget items, not children's toys. They contain small parts and are a choking hazard for young children. Keep away from babies, young children and pets.
We are an independent brand
Cheese Squishy selects and sells its own range of cheese-shaped squeeze toys. We are an independent company — we are not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to any other brand, manufacturer, retailer, dairy, film, show, character or franchise.
We don't claim to be the "official", "original", or only maker of cheese-shaped squishies. Similar products exist from other sellers; the designs we offer are simply the ones we have chosen and put our name to.
Any third-party brand names or trademarks that may ever appear on this site (for example in a customer review or a comparison) remain the property of their respective owners and are used only to describe or compare. Their appearance does not imply any partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement.
What our products are — and aren't
They are
- Decorative, collectible slow-rise squeeze toys — moulded foam or a soft filled shell, depending on the piece.
- Made for fidgeting, comfort and display.
They are not
- Food or anything edible — despite the realistic cheese look.
- Teethers, chew toys or pet toys.
- Medical, therapeutic or wellness devices.
- Licensed or "official" merchandise of any character, film, show, brand or dairy.
- Toys intended for young children.
Because they look like food, please keep them away from meals and out of reach of anyone who might try to bite or swallow them.
What they are made of
Our range is built in two different ways. Most pieces are moulded slow-rise polyurethane (PU) foam with a printed outer skin and added colourants. Others use a soft outer shell — PU or a soft plastic — filled with a gel, a thick liquid or a petroleum-jelly-type compound, which gives a heavier squeeze and a slower return.
Typical rise time is 3 to 6 seconds for both, depending on the size of the piece and the room temperature. A cold room slows the rise down; that is normal and is not a fault.
The build matters for handling. A filled piece must never be cut, pierced, over-stretched or squeezed against a sharp edge, because the contents can escape. If you are unsure which type an item uses, ask us before you buy and we will tell you what we know about that piece.
Sensitivities and material claims
These materials are widely used in squeeze toys, but no material is risk-free for everyone. If you have a known sensitivity to polyurethane foams, soft plastics, plasticisers, mineral oils, petroleum-based compounds or synthetic dyes, please do not use our products. We do not market our products as latex-free, fragrance-free or hypoallergenic, and we make no such claim. Sizes, photos and colours
Every product page lists the measured size in inches and centimetres. Please read those figures rather than judging scale from a photo — a wedge photographed on its own can look far bigger than it is.
We work hard to show our products accurately, but lifestyle photos, renders and illustrations are for presentation only. Actual colour, finish and size can vary slightly from batch to batch and from how they appear on your screen. All sizes are approximate and given for reference. Small variations between individual pieces are normal.
Safety & age guidance
Please read our full Product Safety & Allergy Information before using or gifting one of our products. It covers materials, skin contact, heat, and what to do if a piece tears, crumbles or leaks.
- Recommended for ages 14 and over. Choking hazard — contains small parts. Keep away from babies, young children and pets.
- These are not teethers, chew toys or pet toys.
- Never cut, pierce, bite or tear a cheese squishy. Torn pieces are a choking hazard, and on a filled piece the contents can escape.
- Never heat or freeze a cheese squishy — no microwave, hot water, radiator, parked car in the sun, or freezer. Heated material can deform and cause burns, and a filled piece can burst.
- Stop using the item immediately if it tears, crumbles or leaks, or if skin becomes red, itchy or sore.
- Remove and safely discard all packaging before handing an item to anyone.
- Inspect your squishies from time to time and retire any piece that becomes damaged, sticky, damp or discoloured.

Wash the area with mild soap and lukewarm water.
Seek medical advice
Seek medical advice. Contact emergency services for any breathing difficulty, swelling of the face or mouth, or a burn.
Please also let us know — we record every report and it helps us act on a batch if something is wrong with it.
Comfort, not medical claims
Lots of customers tell us our squishies help them relax, focus or unwind — and we love hearing that. But our products are fun comfort and fidget items only. They are not medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
If you are dealing with stress, anxiety or any health concern, please speak with a qualified professional. A cheese squishy is a nice little companion, not a substitute for care.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cheese Squishy accepts no liability for any injury, burn, skin reaction, allergic reaction, irritation, illness, damage or loss arising from: use by a child under 14, or by a child without adult supervision; use of a product that has been cut, pierced, heated, frozen, machine-washed, repaired or otherwise altered; continued use after a tear, leak or reaction has appeared; use in any way not described on our Product Safety & Allergy Information page; or any indirect, incidental or consequential loss. Where our liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the price paid for the product concerned.
Nothing on this page removes or limits any right you have under applicable consumer protection law, including your statutory rights in respect of products that are faulty, unsafe or not as described, and nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.
